Warranty
Thank you for your interest in the products and services of Sourthernshade.
This Limited Warranty applies to physical goods, and only for physical goods, purchased from Sourthernshade (the "Physical Goods").
What does this limited warranty cover?
This Limited Warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the Warranty Period.
During the Warranty Period, Sourthernshade will repair or replace, at no charge, products or parts of a product that proves defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.
What will we do to correct problems?
Sourthernshade will either repair the Product at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts.
How long does the coverage last?
The Warranty Period for Physical Goods purchased from Sourthernshade is 180 days (change this) from the date of purchase.
A replacement Physical Good or part assumes the remaining warranty of the original Physical Good or 180 days (change this) from the date of replacement or repair, whichever is longer.
What does this limited warranty not cover?
This Limited Warranty does not cover any problem that is caused by:

Southern Shade Window & Door Inc. Guarantees this product against defects in material and workmanship and agrees to replace any items found to be defective within the following terms and conditions:/p>
Faulty installation of windows or doors may cause this warranty to be null and void.

Southern Shade Window & Door Inc. is not liable under any circumstances for any incidental or consequential damages related to the above clauses.
The above warranty covers strictly parts only. Labor of any kind is not included.

Southern Shade Window & Door Inc. will not be responsible for freight, installation, repainting or refinishing of any painted product or any labour involved, this will be at the expense of the owner. Warranty is valid as long as the account is current. Non Current accounts will void all warranties on all products, past and present, until the account is current again.
Glass
1.0 Warranty on glass is Lifetime From January 1st, 2020 and on against seal failures; breakage of any kind is not part of the warranty.
Glass warranty is as follows Lifetime full replacement. {Glass only labour not part of warranty}
1.1 The manufacturer of the glass will honor all warranties and handle defects in glass such as bubbles, sratches, and inclusion.
1.2 Any breakage once the unit has left Southern Shade Window & Door Inc. is not part of warranty.
1.3 Any seal failures due to plugged drainage ports from improper maintenance or improper installation will not be covered.
1.4 Any films or reflective material on glass will void all warranty.
1.5 Chemical damage to the glass due to improper use of chemicals will void the warranty
1.6 Glass is considered to be dirty or defective when you stand back 3m ( 10 Feet ) and the defect is clearly visible with the naked eye, as per the national standards code.
1.7 The MFG of the Decorative door lites will carry the warranty against seal failure, Warranties Vary and are prorated. They will replace the door lite with the same decorative pattern or if discontinued one of similar design. No labor , Labor will be charged.
PVC
2.0 25-year warranty on PVC against defects in material and workmanship.
2.1 PVC welds broken due to improper handling or installation are not covered under warranty.
2.2 Any modifications to the PVC of any kind such as painting, cladding, or laminating film (mac tac) will void all warranty.
2.3 Chemical damage to PVC due to improper use of chemicals will void the warranty.
2.4 Any PVC painted by the manufacturer will carry a Five year warranty against peeling or flaking , fading is normal wear and not warranty. PVC Warpage or distortion from excessive heat from external sources or being painted in a dark color is not warranted.
2.5 Any damage to the PVC during transport is not part of the warranty.
2.6 Any discoloration or distortion to the PVC by any means (heat, chemical, etc.) is not covered under warranty.
2.7 PVC cladding of any kind has a warranty of only one year against defects, discoloration or distortion.
2.8 PVC will expand and contract as is gets hot and cold, this is normal for PVC. This may cause caulking to crack and is NOT a Warranty Issue. All exterior caulking should be inspected once a year.
Hardware
3.0 Lifetime warranty on all hardware.( Rental or Commercial use 1 year )
3.1 Improper maintenance of hardware will void the warranty. (Not being cleaned or lubricated regularly)
3.2 Improper use of hardware such as over tightening or leveraging will void the warranty.
3.3 Hardware damage due to misuse or abuse will void the warranty.
3.4 Rusting of any hardware component will not be covered under warranty; rust is part of metal breakdown and cannot be completely stopped.
Windows
4.0 Warranty of the windows is to the original purchaser only and is transferable if your dealer is notified prior to the sale of the house.
4.1 Windows installed out of square or windows that have shifted out of square will carry no warranty.
4.2 Windows installed improperly will carry no warranty.
4.3 Improper location of a PVC window such as over a furnace or dryer vent will void the warranty.
4.4 Windows that have been removed and installed on a different building will carry no warranty.
4.5 Any ice or condensation on or around the window is not warranty, but may be a sign of improper installation or excessive moisture in the home.
4.6 All rubber seals are warranted for defects in material only, normal wear and tear are not part of the warranty. (i.e. Hardening, tears or rips, discoloration or deteriation are normal wear and tear.) (Rental or Commercial use 1 year)
4.7 Where Southern Shade Window & Door Inc. supplies installation warranty on installation is 90 days.
4.8 We are not responsible for any windows left behind in our warehouse after 90 Days .
Doors
5.0 All inswing doors will carry no warranty against leakage of air or water if a good quality storm door is not installed properly.
5.1 All doors that come with an astragal post have no warranty against air or water leakage.
5.2 All Painted or Stained doors have a warranty of 5 years against Peeling or Flaking , Fading will happen and is not warranty.
5.3 All Fiberglass door panels have a 10 Year warranty against defect in material or workmanship that may unreasonably affect performance.
5.4 Any ice or condensation on or around the door is not warranty, but may be a sign of improper installation or excessive moisture in the home.
5.5 All custom made Door glass will only carry a 5 year warranty against seal failure
5.6 Door glass warranty will be carried by the manufacturer of the glass, warranty will vary.
5.6 All doors used in a Rental or Commercial application, other than commercial doors will carry no warranty.
5.7 Door warpage is considered a defect when the deflection at uniform temperature exceeds 5/16 of an inch over a 3 month period, providing the door was manufactured with standard lock and hinge preparations. This warranty will cover doors with glazing units 22” x 36” or less, door warpage is not covered by warranty when glazing units are larger than 22" x 36". This warranty does cover routine and seasonal adjustments of striker or door sweeps and does not cover wear and tear of components.
